Winter Solstice
The longest night promises true winter.
The light of transformation is hard to see.
It’s there, though, in the gladness
Of the chickadee sipping at the shimmering bird bath,
In the silvery morning light on the maple branch,
In the stars shining against a fathomless indigo sky.

Beautiful! It captures the way the solstice can lift the spirits.
Thank you, Caitlin
This makes me want to write poetry with you on our typewriters for the Lucky passers by again
I guess I should figure out how to not be “anonymous“ when I leave comments here🙂 Nell
Yes, that would be lovely. And the passers by would like it too. You signed your name and that made it non anonymous. You could also log into Google but that has other drawbacks lol
Beautiful! I was reading Mary Oliver poems this morning and your images remind me of hers. - Julie
Thank you Julie! High praise :)
